J. A. Pell & Son revisited a repeat client in Wanstead, East London. This job was a bespoke garden decking area, as an addition to a lovely garden room project we completed previously. We started the job by clearing the area of all garden foliage and debris where needed. This gave us the desired space to construct the bespoke garden decking to the client’s specification.
First fix started with 4″ x 4″ tanalised posts being secured in position where needed with durable postcrete. Positioning of the posts were based on calculations, taking into consideration the timbers that were used, to ensure the timber frame has adequate support across the span of the decking area.
With our levels being set and marked out, the 4″ x 2″ tanalised timber plates where then bolted to the posts using 10mm bolts, washers and nylon locking nuts. Giving a very secure fixing, ready to support the joists. 4″ x 2″ tanalised joists were secured on the timber plates with correct spacing, again to conform with giving the decking area the correct support needed. A similar process was used in the creation of the walkway and the step.
Second fix consisted of securing the tanalised decking onto the the framework, along with a facia all the way round to complete the job. A very simple yet productive space created. A lovely area for family and friends to enjoy time in the garden room with a few beers and a BBQ during the summer months. Another happy client!
